One Drawing a Day
One drawing a day... easy!
In 2015 I set myself a challenge, to create a drawing every day for a year. Why?.... that's a very good question.
I had not long returned from Europe where I had spent 4 weeks in Rome with the Rome Art Program. I was excited to keep up my creative momentum, but didn't know how I was going to manage it.
I started sharing my work on social media and was excited when I received such positive feedback. My late night meanderings became more frequent and I realised I didn't need to be producing great works of art on the back of a 40hr teaching week, I just needed to be creating... every day.
So I set myself the goal of drawing one picture every day for a year. I somehow had the good sense to keep it small, and set myself a time frame of one hour every day. Each night I posted to my Facebook page, and each morning I would wake to find new people following my work and eager to see what I would draw next. It was exhilarating.
